I recently read a great article about the history of public nursing in Kennebunkport, so when I came across this piece in the Pepperell Sheet newsletter from 1948 I had to share it. Biddeford’s successful Visiting Nurse program was started by the Red Cross in 1917. In July 1948 it separated from the Red Cross and became the Biddeford Public Health Nursing Service, Inc.
