Apologies for the long absence! Last summer was incredibly busy, and I wrapped up 2008 with a 3-month sabbatical.
The special collections are going strong, though…check out all of the great images posted on the Maine Memory Network by amazing interns from Biddeford High School & the University of New England.
We were also very pleased to be awarded an Institute of Museum & Library Services “Connecting to Collections” Bookshelf at the end of summer 2008. All of these books & resources are part of the library’s non-circulating collections–accessible to anyone, although you must come into the library to use them.
The work of inventorying the massive amount of special collection & local history material continues as well. Of course, the biggest change since my last post is our new library director–who is awesome in so many ways, not the least of which is her former job as a local history librarian: SCORE!
Needless to say, all is well at the MAC, and my new year’s resolution is to post at least once a month!!!
